MLA 2020 Annual Conference


MLA is divided into subunits defined as divisions, sections, and round tables.


Divisions promote the development of libraries, library services, library governance, and librarianship within and for a particular type of library. They are comprised of no fewer than 100 MLA members. Every Active, Life, and Affiliate member of MLA is a member of one of the divisions.

  • Public Libraries Division (PLD)

Sections promote the study and development of a particular function or aspect of librarianship that has relevance for more than one type of library. They are comprised of between 50 and 100 MLA members. Active, Life, and Affiliate members of MLA may join one or more section for no additional cost.

  • Technical Services Section (TSS)
    Purpose: To provide members and other Minnesota library workers with opportunities to discuss current problems and future developments in library technical services, and to educate and inform. View... [read more]

Round Tables

Round tables are smaller versions of divisions and sections. They promote those library types and aspects of librarianship that are represented by 10 to 50 MLA members. Round tables also may be established to discuss areas of library philosophy and concern. Active, Life, and Affiliate members of MLA may join one or more round table for no additional cost.

  • Reader's Advisory Round Table (RART)
