Tell your congressional representative why you support current Net Neutrality rules and oppose any changes or rollback of existing laws before December 14th

Why is this so important?

Without net neutrality regulations in place, equitable access to information could be threatened. This includes access to many of the services and materials Minnesota libraries make available, including:

  • Free wireless access - libraries across the state offer reliable, fast connections
  • Access to educational and online resources - Minnesotans use the internet to access both educational and life-long learning resources such as databases and ebooks/eaudio content
  • Employment opportunities and government program access: With library Internet stations and Wi-Fi access, patrons are able to search and apply for jobs and access government programs

What can you do to help?

  1. Learn more about Net Neutrality and how it would affect you personally. This site has helpful information (including easy-to-understand videos):
  2. Contact your congressional representative by email and tell your congressional representatives what net neutrality means to you. The American Library Association makes it easy with their online tool. Simply input your information, and emails will be automatically generated for your appropriate representatives

  3. While Sen. Klobuchar and Sen. Franken have expressed support, check this scorecard to see where your representative stands

  4. Contact your representatives by phone, mail, Twitter, or by visiting their local office
