2010 Legislative Forum
The Legislative Forum is an opportunity for library employees, Trustees, Friends, and other advocates to begin planning for 2011. All members of MLA and/or MEMO, as well as others in the Minnesota library community, are encouraged to attend. 2011 is a budgeting year at the Legislature and looks to be challenging on many fronts, from funding shifts and potential budget deficits to the continuation of Legacy funding for libraries, the potential impact of the Office of the Legislative Auditor’s report on public libraries, and newly elected (or re-elected) legislative and gubernatorial officials.
How will the Minnesota library community respond to these challenges? A good start is to come to St. Cloud on July 20, 2010 and be part of the conversation. Spend the day with your colleagues from around the state and help determine MLA and MEMO’s legislative platform priorities. Bring your enthusiasm, ideas, concerns, and solutions to help move Minnesota libraries forward. Lunch and refreshments are included. Free Wi-Fi is available.
See you in St. Cloud!
