The Academic and Research Libraries Division (ARLD) is pleased to invite you to our next Dialogue. ARLD Dialogues are an opportunity for academic librarians from various institutions to gather and converse about a particular aspect of librarianship, and our next topic for discussion will be Mindfulness in the Library.

A simple definition of mindfulness is "paying attention to the present moment, observing thoughts and feelings without judgment and letting them go with ease.” We will discuss ways in which library staff can use mindfulness in their jobs to help with stress and conflict, and how mindfulness education and practice can benefit students in an academic environment. This is an informal discussion, so please come with your own ideas and thoughts to share with the group.

The library recently repurposed an old copy room into a Meditation Room.
